Nicole Glaze Tasting Room Manager, Office Manager
Nicole Glaze began working with us in January of 2005 as our administrative assistant and retail sales associate. She quickly was promoted to tasting room manager and office manager, assisting everybody with everything...except winemaking, of course.
Nicole arrived at Havens after working in sales and marketing for Oakville Ranch Vineyards. Her real experience was at Stag's Leap Wine Cellars, where she was a tasting room associate from 1997 to 2000 and then sales and marketing assistant from 2000 to 2004. She's a Napa native and knows the people, the places, and the points of interest. So, don't hesitate to ask.
Nicole recently embarked on her most exciting job yet - becoming a wife. In September 2007 she married Jared Glaze, and yes, Havens Merlot was served at her wedding reception.
She's a straight shooter and chronically organized. Take a sneak peek at her interview and tell us you wouldn't give this woman the job (just don't try):
Havens: What are your qualifications? Nicole: Some people are foodies, I go right to the salt. Anything with salt. Which makes sense, since I’m something of a seasoned professional in the wine industry.
Havens: What are some of your interests? Nicole: I have a shameful passion for certain reality TV shows. Havens: No worries, most of our crew have their quirks, like crossword puzzle races during breaks. What’s your favorite kind of wine? Nicole: Sparkling…is that OK to say? Havens: Who doesn’t? How else can you contribute to Havens Wine Cellars? Nicole: Well, here’s something I whipped up:
Nicole’s Pork Chop Marinade with Havens Albariño
4 thick cut pork chops from the butcher ¼ c. soy sauce ¼ c. Havens Wine Cellars Albariño Several squeezes of fresh lemon juice A drizzle of olive oil 2 garlic cloves crushed Pinch of sea salt Fresh ground pepper Dried parsley Dried Herbs de Provence Place pork chops in a glass baking dish and pierce with a fork. Combine marinade ingredients and turn to coat both sides. Cover dish with lid or plastic wrap. Marinate chops for a few hours in refrigerator turning occasionally. Grill chops until desired doneness. This savory marinade on a light meat pork is a perfect pairing with our crisp, refreshing Carneros white.
